Feel The Revival
One of Omaha's leading Gospel groups, the Sacred Heart Freedom Choir is well-known throughout the Omaha, Nebraska community and the surrounding region as the Sunday ensemble at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where members and visitors come from a multi-state area to participate and celebrate their faith in its spirited, energetic, and often standing room only Sunday morning service.
Lead by Jim Boggess and a six piece band, the Freedom Choir's rousing and vibrant sound features tight harmonies and dynamic arrangements that raise the roof, routinely bringing the congregation to its feet.
"Feel the Revival" - an eclectic blend of traditional spiritual and modern gospel songs from the early 1900s to today - is the group's fifth professional recording.
Nominated for an Omaha Entertainment & Arts Award (OEA) in 2008, the Freedom Choir has also toured internationally, with concerts in Rome and numerous other cities in Italy, as well as throughout the Midwest.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located in the heart of inner-city Omaha. In addition to its ministry serving hundreds of individuals and families from Omaha and the surrounding region, the parish supports Sacred Heart School, a mission elementary school for children residing within the North Omaha community. The parish's Heart Ministry Center serves thousands of individuals and families each year with basic necessities, including food, clothing, and diapers, as well as with educational programs and health outreach events.
